The Happiest Place on Earth

On Monday, we returned home from our trip to Disneyland. My wonderful inlaws bought us a trip for Christmas (thank you sooooooooo much!!).

Now, being the worry wart that I am, I was very nervous about taking the kids to Dland, especially my daughter. She is a bit "discipline challenged" so the thought of going anywhere where she can get lost is terrifing.

I have to say, I was completely surprised at how wonderful the kids were.

Day 1 - we are really crazy, so we left for Cali at 3:30 in the morning. We thought the kids would go right back to sleep, but we didn't take into account the excitement factor. they did sleep off and on (as did I) and we arrived without getting lost even once.

We attempted to make the kids sleep for a bit before heading to the park, but that ended after about an hour of frustration. With that we headed to the park.

There is nothing so cool as seeing your children's eyes light up as they first walk through the gates of Disneyland. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. They were just in a complete state of amazement the entire time.

They did pretty good time wise too. We stayed out till 10:30 (11:30 our time), even after starting the day so early. We had dinner at the Buzz Lightyear Cafe, which was cool becasue the last time I went to DL with my family, it was a space cafe where my brother and I had moon burgers.

Day 2 - After having a nice, albeit expensive, breakfast dinner at IHOP, we headed back to the fun. Our son, who is usually very tentative, even went on some faster rides, including Splash Mountain. We even got a picture of him on the ride, which will be great for when he goes to prom in high school.

I also watched the Fantasmic show with my daughter. This was the most incredible show I have ever seen. What a production!

Day 3 - Hubby was kinda feisty this day, but we still had fun. The kids were wiped out, so we had to cut the night short. All in all, is was a wonderful trip.

I would have liked to have had two more days - we didn't have the time to go to any shows or anything. Other than that, it was a wonderful trip.

I was ready for there to be fighting or sickness or something, but it all went beautifully.

I will have to do a whole other post on the people watching. That is an entirely different subject. ;)

The Circle of Sickness continues...

We cannot get better in our house. One of the four of us has been sick in succession for the past 7 weeks.

When will we get a break?

Right now, my daughter has a double ear infection in both ears. My husband is starting to come down with the crud again, I still have a cough and my son was sick on Christmas and Christmas Eve.

I want it all to just go away. I read that AZ is in the midst of a major flu epidemic, which is really frightening when you think about all the people with the same exact symptoms and how many of them there are.

My daughter is doing better, especially after a few doses of meds and some kiddie crack, also known as infants Motrin. Who knew that ibuprofin had the same effect in infants as speed? My daughter, once her 103+ degree fever went down, ran around my house like a bat outta hell for two hours straight.

Oh, and did I mention that the night before I was up with her until 2:30 and then 11:30 the night before that. Mommy needs some sleep!!
